The review of the Regional Planning of the island of Lanzarote, was motivated by the overwhelming population growth and tourism activities that exceeded the forecasts. A series of study was initiated to identify key elements for the organization of the Territorial Model. The fundamental structuring element of the island has been and remains the landscape; in its natural, cultural and ethnographic aspects. In this case, the analysis focused on identifying growth patterns and settlement typologies in relation with the characteristics of landscape.
