Mission Madrid 2022: a decarbonised Madrid by the year 2030

La Casa Encendida’s yard becomes the meeting point for listening to different proposals currently in development that help inspirating about change and for achieving the mission: a decarbonised Madrid by the year 2030.

The last April the 28th, European Union selected Madrid, along with six more Spanish cities (Barcelona, Valencia, Sevilla, Vitoria, Valladolid and Zaragoza), as one of the 100 cities that will be the vanguard in a process of transformation for reaching more safe, healthy, sustainable and prosperous cities. Through this mission, the selected cities are going to act as centres of experimentation and innovation centres with the aim of inspiring other European urban areas to reach the goal of climate neutrality by the year 2050.

The event, curated by Zuloark and Antonella Broglia, was organized by La Casa Encendida, Madrid’s townhall, The Democratic Society and Centro de Innovación en Tecnología para el Desarrollo Humano (Innovation in Technology for Human Development Centre) from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. It has also had the collaboration of C40-CITIES, Laudes Foundation and the EIT Climate-KI; LANDLAB has also taken part in the event.
